Samfunnsansvar og etikk

Thank you for helping us help! House of Yarn places great emphasis on social responsibility. We focus on ensuring that all our processes and value creation make a positive difference for people, the environment, and society, both directly and indirectly. We collaborate with several organizations working to improve people's lives.

Focus on ethics, environment, and animal welfare

House of Yarn aims to be a leading industry player with a strong focus on ethics, environment, and animal welfare.

All production complies with EU environmental requirements – the so-called REACH regulation. Documentation, openness, and transparency on these issues are embedded in our strategy, providing greater security for all parties.

Environment and sustainability

We focus on concepts and products with GOTS, RWS, and OEKO-Tex certification. The certification guarantees that the entire production chain follows ecological principles and that animal welfare is safeguarded. The certification is licensed, fully transparent, and both products and production can be verified.

REACH – The Regulation

REACH is a comprehensive European regulation concerning chemicals from production or import to use as substances, in mixtures, and products. Businesses are responsible for documenting the safe use of their chemicals before they can be marketed. The most hazardous substances are regulated by authorities.

GOTS – Ecology and Social Responsibility

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is an international labeling system for organic textiles. The label requires that at least 70 percent of fibers are organically grown and that textiles meet environmental and health requirements throughout the production process. Social criteria and worker safety are also included. The certification guarantees that the entire production chain follows ecological principles and that animal welfare is safeguarded. The certification is licensed, fully transparent, and both products and production can be verified.

OEKO-Tex Standard 100

An international testing and certification system for textiles. Products must not contain allergy- or cancer-causing dyes. The label also guarantees that the product has been tested for chlorinated phenols, phthalates, organic tin compounds, and more. The label is not an organic certification.
